I lived in Alaska for 20+ years and spent a lot of time looking out of portals. When I wasn’t out on our motorsailer, I was out on National Marine Fisheries Service research vessels.

Often the seas were not kind, especially on the open-ocean waters of Southeast Alaska. These watercolors were painted from these memories.

I’ve been painting in watercolor for about 10 years, and it’s my preferred medium because it’s so portable and versatile.
